Limited late model rules


Traction Control Devices:

All electronic and/or computerized wheel spin and/or ignition retardation
and/or acceleration limiting and/or traction control devices of any type
will not be permitted.

Adjustable ping control devices, dial a chip controls, timing
controls and/or automated throttle controls will not be permitted.

Adjustable restrictor plates will not be permitted.

Remote control components of any-type will not be permitted.

Electronic devices designed for transmitting voice and/or data will
not be permitted by anyone

Data acquisition systems and/or electronic or digital timing devices
will not be permitted.

Raceceviers are required at all SLMSS events. The frequency will be
announced during the driver’s meeting.

RESTARTS:
All restarts will be a double-file after the completion of the first lap of
competition in any race, until 10 laps to go in the feature event. In
all restarts lead lap cars will move to the front with lap down cars moving to the
tail end of the field.


BODY:
A. ANY JIG OR CLIP CAR
B. 2021 Southern All Stars / Lucas Oil
C. ALL NON-APPROVED BODIES WILL BE ASSESSED WITH A MINIMUM OF
50 LB WEIGHT PENALTY.


ROLL CAGE:
A. ALL race cars MUST have boxed roll cage with 1 1/2 O.D. X 083 MIN.
B. MUST have 3 bars in the left door and 2 bars in the right door.


TIRES:
A. HOOSIER “1350 or 21” Spec Only – Spec 55 or Spec 1600 allowed
B. AMERICAN RACER “48 or 56” Spec only –
C. No Cutting/Grooving. No Steer tires. No siping. May open existing
lines. No cutting edges.
D. May Cut/Groove the American Racer Tires
TIRES: (CRATE CARS ONLY WITH SEALED “602” OR “604”)
A. May run Southeastern Late Model Sportsman Series Tire rule.
B. “602” May run {Hoosier- F.200} on all (4) corners.
C. “604” May run {Hoosier- F 200} on (3) corners. Open right rear.


SPOILER:
A. 8″ height and 72” width
B. GM 602 and 604 CRATE engine may run a 14″ spoiler with a 150 lb. weight
break.
C. No more than 3 spoiler supports may be used.


WHEELS:
A. ONLY aluminum or steel wheels permitted for competition. The maximum
wheel width is 14″.


WHEELBASE:
A. 103 SIDE TO SIDE (1” VARIANCE)


FUEL:
A. RACING FUEL IS PERMITTED.
B. NO Alcohol, Ethanol, Methanol, Nitrous Oxide, Propylene Oxide or chemical
additives!!


TRANSMISSION:
A. BERT and BRINN transmissions allowed.
B. ANY TYPE OF CLUTCH IS PERMITTED.
C. MUST have forward, reverse and equipped with a working self-starter.
Direct Drive systems, of any kind, WILL NOT be permitted!!


CARBURETOR:
A. ONE FOUR BARREL is PERMITTED.
B. DOMINATOR CARBURETORS ARE NOT PERMITTED.


ENGINE:
A. 362 base weight 2400
. 365 CUBIC INCHES MAXIMUM any engine with big bore short stroke must
weigh 2400#
B. CAST IRON BLOCK
C. HIGH PERFORMANCE CAM SHAFTS PERMITTED
D. ANY HYDRAULIC CAM PERMITTED
E. ROLLER CAM PERMITTED
F. ANY WET OIL PANS PERMITTED.
G. BALANCING PERMITTED.
H. ENGINE MAY BE CROSSED FROM ONE MANUFACTURER TO ANOTHER.
I. DRY SUMP PERMITTED.
J. FORD (S374) SEALED RACING ENGINE IS PERMITTED.
K. GM PERFORMANCE (CT525-376 Cubic Inch) SEALED RACE ENGINE IS
PERMITTED. Must carry 50lb in front mid plate. 2350 Total Weight.
ENGINE PLACEMENT:
A. ENGINE MUST NOT BE MORE THAN 2″ FROM CENTER OF FRAME RAIL.
B. ENGINE SETBACK WILL BE 6″ CENTER OF TOP BALL JOINT TO MOST
FORWARD SPARK PLUG. (1/2” VARIANCE)
C. (CT525-376 Cubic Inch-Tolerance will be allowed).


HEADS:
A. (NO CC LIMIT) on cast iron heads. (Cast iron ONLY).
B. High Performance valve springs & retainers permitted.
C. Titanium retainers are permitted.
D. Needle bearing rocker arms are permitted.
E. CHEVY 23 DEGREE HEADS ONLY. ANGLE HEADS PERMITTED.
F. Raised Runner heads permitted
G. Spec Heads must be as they come

(ANY FORM OF GETTING TO 365 OR LESS IS OK)
If the driver claims Port Polish dry sump and roller, it is easy for
Tech Inspector of said car makes weight. In most cases the Tech Inspector can
check these visibly, even the roller can be seen from oil returns in head.
If for some reason Tech Inspector is unable to see, the intake may have
to be removed.
THE CT525 ENGINE…THE TECH INSPECTOR CAN CHECK VALVE SPRINGS
& CUBIC INCH ONLY AT THIS TIME!!
PROTESTING IS NOT PERMITTED. AT THE CONCLUSION OF EACH EVENT,
THE EVENT WINNER WILL HAVE (P&G) INSPECTION PERFORMED
All 525 must have 50 pounds bolted on or near the cross member
Total weight 2350
